Google Sketch up

Postby Greg from K/W » Fri Feb 05, 2010

Hey guys can we have a sub forum in this are for Google sketch up? I need to get on to learning how to use this program. I thought if we started to build a library of how to stuff it would help us all out. I though here would be good because it is the design area. What you all think?

I think that is a great idea.

We could do a sub forum, or I could just make it a sticky topic. (When Josh officially gets me my super-powers) I like the sticky best, at least for now.

I'll start a thread later today with links to the training vids I've found most helpful, and we'll be on our way.

Greg - you gotta learn excel first!!!!!! It'll take a few hours and be worth more to your business than Sketch up will ever!!!!!!!

Since we are talking Sketch up - I'll post the exteriors of our addition we are planning for the summer and no I did not create this. The upper tool bar has predetermined views on it, click them and fly around the exterior.

That is what Sketch-up can create. If anyone has design comments - I'll start a new thread.

I get that David. I need sketch up to do some drawings for the restaurant I am quoting. But perhaps I don't need them. They are letting me have pretty free reign on design. Ok excel first then sketch up no problem.

The bad news is that I have been fiddling with Sketch up for several years off and on and I could never draw something that I would show others...

The learning curve is steep w/Sketch up.....
