Welcome to The Contractors Club

The Contractors Club is an online association of contractors that was started on 8/16/2007. This site focuses on running and managing a construction business. The Club was founded on the idea of contractors helping contractors grow their business while improving the quality of the industry as a whole.

Due to only industry related members allowed to achive membership the club has grown rapidly and offers lots of information and advice based from real life experiences. There are 2 levels of membership. Associate Members have introduced themselves to the association and share the same goal as the other members. Preferred Members have proven their level of expertise by contributing to the site and have full access to all the club offers.

New Members

Postby Josh » Fri Jan 08, 2010

I added several members to the associate section over the last few days.

Total-Home
Notillegal
TimCon
Tashler
JRConst

I've started building an updated version of this site. Not much will change visually but I plan to strip the gallery and article sections out and keep it forums and downloads. I also have a couple more features instead of sections that will make it more user friendly to collaborate.

When I flip the sites there will be more public sections. I'm leaning towards going trade specific because I can't think of any other sections to add. If anyone has any ideas on sections or features you think will get used now is the time to speak up. Let me know what you currently don't like also.

I've already started updating this site but I won't be done until atleast 30-60 days so feedback is not needed quickly.
Joe this was a level 4 minus the 3rd coat on bead, so I'd say a strong level 3.5

Josh, are any of the current private forums going to be public? If so how will you deal with stuff that we may not want public? Nothing comes to mind, but we talk about ALOT of stuff behind closed doors.

I won't make any of the current forums public for that reason Scott. I'd rather create new ones.

My thoughts are for those interested and regulars here to pick a trade specific one and have there company sponsor it. They will be a moderator and get there url and company advertised on each page of that section for taking the time to manage it.

Josh,

I'd be happy to help out with moderation of one of the forums.

I'll let all all the more experienced folks stake there claims first, and if nothing good is left I can do one on site clean-up and sweeping.

Site clean-up... That's funny.

Well if there's interest we can start the forums now and when I flip us over to the new site the company links etc will be there. Just to get the ball rolling...

Josh is it possible to make the various sections hidden so those that are not eligible to see them don't feel like they are missing out? (We wont tell them if you don't) Some sites do that just so new members don't feel bad or think they are under valued.

Kind of like your moderators' forum... :D

Josh - I'd be interested in knowing what moderating a forum entails. Sounds intriguing.

Or how about the siding forum? I'm a pro now

Haha, I guess I'll be Matt's b*** in the clean up forum.
